Get to grips with watercolour with this tried and tested course led by creative coach Kirsty Kennedy, founder of Go Create.

It’s aimed at complete beginners and those with some experience looking to touch up their skills, or ease back into a forgotten hobby.

During the morning, you’ll get to trial different brushes and learn different techniques. You’ll also be taken through a series of carefully devised exercises to help you fully appreciate how best to work with brush and colour, to achieve more effective results.

In the afternoon Kirsty will encourage students to put their new skills with plants, still life objects and reference material. The different approaches support people of all abilities and coach to ensure that each student can find their personal route into watercolour: illustrations, abstract, representational, experimental…More confident students are free to work on a project of their choose and can also receive guidance and support.

We provide a couple of good quality watercolour sheets and some smaller sample pieces. Feel free to bring an extra pad. Paints, brushes and other equipment is available for use.

Light refreshments will be provided.

LUNCH
Please note that will break for lunch between 12.30 – 1.30. We are situated close to the Old Town and there are plenty of places to grab food. The beach is also about 5 minutes away should you prefer to bring a packed lunch and to enjoy lunch at the beach.
