Margate…

If it inspired Turner, Keets and made Tracey Emmin…

Come see us  in Margate and experience art the way you’ll never experience in a studio or find on the Internet. Suitable for beginners, returners and those with some painting and drawing experience.
We’ll start at base with a presentation on drawing/painting approaches and a brief overview of Margate Historic Town.
Beginners will then start with some basic drawing lessons in the morning followed by a watercolour lesson and then  some outdoor sketching and painting in the afternoon. More advanced students will be taken on a guided walk/outdoor sketching/painting or reference gathering in the morning and then return to the studio in the afternoon to develop work with support if required. introduce themes to inspire and discuss approaches to your series of sketches, or just ideas for projects developing into a final piece. After lunch we’ll meet back at base to review sketches or project ideas. Having gathered inspirational material, students will be given absolute  freedom to develop individual projects. But we’re always around to help, support or direction where necessary.
On day 2,  we’ll commence with more inspiration and give acrylic colour mixing and mixed media tutorials and offer advice on outdoor methods of working on ‘studies.’ Beginners will be guided as they work on a small painting whilst those with more experience will continue to work on drawings or paintings either in the studio or on location.
