We’ll make sure its covered.
Stretching a canvas not only lets you control the surface quality but also speaks more of the final product. Indeed some galleries turn work away based on the quality of support. In this specialist workshop, we’ll cover choice of canvas supports and canvas, stretching and priming a canvas. You’ll also learn how to prepare wood and some non-orthodox surfaces for painting. From traditional methods to contemporary approaches, this masterclass covers it all.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be shown by demonstration and then given the opportunity to test your skills. You’ll be given support by experienced practitioners to ensure you get the hang of it and meet professional standards.
You’ll get to take home a canvas that has been stretched and primed by yourself plus a small board.
This 2.5 hour session will start you on the basics of constructing a formal drawing. During the session you'll be working from still life.
