Get to grips with watercolour

with our tried and tested  1 day intensive course.

This intensive, one-day workshop is aimed at complete beginners and those with some experience looking to touch up their skills or get back into a forgotten hobby.

You’ll get to trial different brushes and learn different techniques such as wet-on-dry or wet-on-wet. We’ll also cover  basic colour mixing and include a paper stretching demonstration. We’ll inspire with different watercolour approaches to support people of all abilities find their route into watercolour whether that be the creation of an llustration from the imagination or  to a study  from still life.

In the afternoon we aim for students to put their new found knowledge to the test. We’ll bring along plenty of reference material and also plants and beautiful still life objects to inspire. For those looking for step-by-step guidance and to complete a small painting we’ cover a plant painting. More confident students are free to work on a project of their chose and can also receive guidance and support.

WHAT TO BRING 

We provide a couple of good quality watercolour sheets and some smaller sample pieces. Feel free to bring an extra pad. Paints, brushes and other equipment is available for use.

 Light refreshments will be provided.

LUNCH
Please note that will break for lunch between 12.30 – 1.30. We are situated close to the Old Town and there are plenty of places to grab food. The beach is also about 5 minutes away should you prefer to bring a packed lunch and to enjoy lunch at the beach.
