Introduction to formal drawing
One-day intensive.

This course is especially designed for those new to drawing or those seeking to improve basic skills. We’ll help to identify your individual strengths or weaknesses and to let them work for you whilst covering the basics of composition and how to convey colour, texture and form.

This is a hands-on practical workshop that is suitable for absolute beginners, returners and improvers wishing formal drawing training. During this one day course, we’ll cover the basics whilst coaching to draw out individual strengths and natural abilities.

We keep group sizes small for drawing coaching to ensure individuals are not only taught but also coached. We’ll cover topics such as observation, tone, measured drawing and basic composition. Also how to select the correct pencil grade during various stages of your drawing plus a range of hints and tips to help your drawing skills leap forward.

During the day, we’ll work in pencil and will work from still life and of course. Later you can take home your drawings to impress friends. You could even have them framed.

Teas and coffees are provided throughout the day but please bring a packed lunch. You’re also welcome to bring bottled drinks which are allowed into the studio.
