then take a Go Create 5 week Wheel Pottery class

This course runs on 5 Sundays and is suited to beginners. Fun, excitement and support from an experienced tutor guaranteed.  Each student will work on individual potters wheels and class sizes are no more than 8 students. Please note that the course will run for 4 weeks, then miss one week (to allow pots to dry and and be bisque fired), then run on the following week so that pieces can be decorated. It will take a further 1-2 weeks for pieces to be glaze fired ready for collection.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

• How to properly prepare clay for throwing and hand-building 

• Centring clay on the wheel and throwing simple shapes such as bowls and cylinders

• Wheel turning and trimming

• Pulling handles and joining techniques

• Texturing technique
  

• Adding colour and glazing your pot so that it is suitable for use
  
  

Essentials are provided including tools and tea and coffee. You will need to bring your own apron. 

Please note that there is an additional cost for any pots that you would like fired which average between £6- £8 per piece to contribute to firing, glazing and slip use. This can be paid the week before final firing in cash or by transfer. You will weigh your pieces, pay for them, and put them aside for firing.  Once glazed, you can use your pots for food and drink or anything else you can think of, they are ovenproof, microwavable, hand washable and dishwasher safe.
