then take a Go Create 5 week Wheel Pottery class

Fun, excitement and support from a highly experienced tutor guaranteed.  Each student will work on individual potters wheels and class sizes are no more than 6 students.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

• How to properly prepare clay for throwing and hand-building 

• Centring clay on the wheel and throwing simple shapes such as bowls and cylinders

• Wheel throwing

• Lifting and trimming
  

• Turning a plate

• Rolling slabs, making coils, pulling handles and joining methods
• Texturing, carving and other decoration techniques

• Adding colour and glazing your pot so it is suitable for use

Essentials are provided including tools and tea and coffee. You are encouraged to bring your own tools and equipment, including your own apron. 

Clay is provided but is chargeable based on the weight of finished pieces*additional costs typically range between £3-£8 per piece to contribute to firing, glazing and slip use. This can be paid the week before final firing in cash or by transfer. You will weigh your pieces, pay for them, and put them aside for firing.  Once glazed, you can use your pots for food and drink or anything else you can think of, they are ovenproof, microwavable, hand washable and dishwasher safe.
