Create your own mug, bowl, vase or ornament
Our structured 2 hour introduction to handbuild pottery is idea for those who are completely new to pottery and wish to both trial pottery whilst creating a handbuild fuctional piece. With our teaching approach you can expect to get your hands dirty and sculpting in the first 10 minutes. We’ll teach simple handbuild slabbing and coil building techniques as well as simple surface decoration.
In this session, you'll start with a small and progress to either a cup, vase, jug or tea light. Maybe more! At the end decide if you would actually like your pieces fired and glazed, additional cost of £5/pot payable on the day, or for £10 plan a time in the month to return to paint your piece with underglazes back in our studio. Third option, clay recycle bucket and no questions asked.

Once you have taken an introductory handbuild class it is possible to book and drop into 2 our casual sessions held on Saturday mornings at the gallery. Or to book a block of sessions for Saturday mornings.

Please note  Should you with to have your pieces kiln fired, glazes may vary from samples shown. Pieces will be ready for collection approximately 4 weeks later as pieces need to dry out thoroughly which can take up to 2 weeks  before going into the kiln for the first firing. They then need to be matched up for colour choice and dipped before firing to 1200 degrees. Depending on the volume we may need to fire in different kiln loads – each process requires kilns to be fired up top temperatures and then cooled down. Final pieces then need to be sorted once again ready for collection. Occasionally pieces do not survive but we try to ensure that as many as possible do.

FEEDBACK
May i say many thanks for a really enjoyable and fulfilling session yesterday.  Chris, Ashford Jan. 2023
Had a fun morning. I wasn’t expecting to come in and get straight down to making a piece of pottery, but it was hands on all the way from the moment of arrival. Great teaching support and very friendly atmosphere.
Great morning! Looking forward to receiving our pots.
Kirsty was super attentive – thoroughly enjoyed the class. Would def recommend Go Create.
I went with my 2 children aged 8 and 5 and they thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. R Welling
