Glass engraving is the art of using a tool to mark the surface of a glass. Learn to engrave on 3 dimensional objects using whilst creating a personalised wine or drinking glass. Come prepared with ideas and a design or let us inspire you on the day.

We’ll start the day with tutor demonstrations and a brief presentation before some hands on practice with flat glass just to get you accustomed to the tools.

We’ve also got template designs and ideas for anyone needing a bit more support.

What we’ll cover:

• A brief history of glass engraving
• A overview of contemporary designs
• An overview of techniques and tools: diamond point, drill engraving and copper wheel engraving
• Which glass to use
• Safety
• An overview of  effects: stipple, intaglio, relief and surface engraving
• Hands on diamond point engraving practice
