THE REAL DEAL CERAMIC WORKSHOP
This 3 hour short course introduces you to basic handbuild ceramic techniques. During the session you can work on your own small bowl, cup, vase or trinket box; we’ll teach simple slabbing and coil building techniques as well as basic surface decoration. We use lead free glazes and stoneware clay which means your final piece will be food safe, oven proof, dishwater proof, microwave proof – but not idiot proof. If you drop it it may smash!
Your best two pieces will then be fired and glazed in a colour of your choice (subject to variations in the glaze itself), and should be available for collection approximately 4 weeks later. We keep pieces for up to 3 months after notification i.e. 4 months after the workshop date. A fun class suitable for children and adults.
WHAT TO WEAR Guests don’t generally get that messy and clay does dust off but do feel free to bring an old shirt to protect your clothes.
REFRESHMENTS
We provide teas and coffees on arrival but feel free to bring your own bottles of water or soft drinks into the room.
CERAMIC GLAZING – IMPORTANT
We fire and glaze your best 2 pieces for example a bowl and a vase. There is an additional charge if you would like further pieces fired and glazed – small pieces are usually £1-£2 extra. Medium pieces i.e. mug size £3-4.
Please note your ceramic pieces will take up to 4 weeks to fire and glaze. Occasionally pots don’t survive but where potscrack we offer a piece or two that haven’t been claimed after some time.

FEEDBACK
Had a fun morning. I wasn’t expecting to come in and get straight down to making a piece of pottery, but it was hands on all the way from the moment of arrival. Great teaching support and very friendly atmosphere.
Great morning! Looking forward to receiving our pots.
Kirsty was super attentive – thoroughly enjoyed the class. Would def recommend Go Create.
I went with my 2 children aged 8 and 5 and they thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. R Welling
I brought my 9year old girl with me on the 3 hour ceramic class…. we had such a good time – however, the class was full and all adults, probably not the best for kids. We did have fun and the team were attentive and relaxed…. Wrap up well as it was chilly in the workshop, don’t wear good clothes as you’re working with clay, its messy and fun to work with. I would go again without doubt. Fun way to spend a day 🙂 RESPONSE: This is predominately an adults workshop – we do allow well behaved children to attend with parents but never have more than one family at a time out of respect for other guests. Heating noted although we do have a number of heaters. We do run separate workshops specifically for kids aged 8+ which are for kids only to safeguard children who are not accompanied by adults.
